How far is the Omaha Triathlon?
The Omaha Triathlon is an Olympic distance race – 1500 meter swim (.9 mile), 40 kilometer bike (24.8 miles), and a 10 kilometer run (6.2 miles).
How difficult is the Swim?
Although times vary with wave number and skill level, most athletes finish the open water swim in 22-36 min.
Can anyone enter?
Yes! The average finishing time is 3:00 to 4:00 hours. Most first-time competitors enter as a challenge for themselves and are very happy with their performance.
When does online registration open?
October 7, 2009 – 12:01 a.m. You’ll find a link on the omahatriathlon.com homepage once registration is open.
How much does it cost to enter?
$150 for individual and $170 for a relay team and $95 for the Aqua-Bike with a $10 USAT insurance fee per person if not a current member of USAT.
When does registration close?
Registration for the 2010 Omaha Triathlon closes July 18, 2010.
How do I register?
Just go online to www.omahatriathlon.com and visit the registration page to sign up.
How do I know if I’m in?
You’ll get an immediate e-mail confirmation for omahatriathlon.com as soon as you register. Make sure to check your spam mail. Make sure to print this email for future reference.
Do I have to pre-qualify?
No, anyone can enter. Fast, slow, beginner, elite – anyone.
Can I enter if I’ve never done a triathlon?
Sure, everyone has to start someplace. This will be a premier sporting event for Omaha and this is your chance to be a part of the action.
How do I qualify as an Elite Amateur?
You’ll have to provide a link to the results of an Olympic distance race you’ve completed in the previous 12 months with a time under 2:15 for men and 2:30 for women. Entry is limited, so hurry. Just select the “Elite” category when you register.
Do I have to be a member of USA Triathlon?
No, but you’ll save money on one-day insurance fees if you are a member. You will also receive the USAT magazine. Become a USAT member here. http://www.usatriathlon.org/
Do I have to live in Omaha?
